The Soul Rewilding facilitator team has a diverse range of backgrounds and experience but a shared love of the mystery of the divine, nature and the urgent need to honour, protect her and let all other than human life flourish.

I'm a leadership coach and spiritual retreat facilitator. My background is in Catholic mysticism and psychology. I have run retreats on a range of themes, from finding the divine in the margins of life, masculine spirituality, spirituality and personality difference, to the ineffable nature of the divine. Inspired by my liberal Catholic faith I have a deep interest in interfaith dialogue. I believe that no one faith has a monopoly on truth. We can all learn from each other if we meet in a spirit of humble enquiry, hunger for truth and compassion for all life. As Meister Eckhart said: "Theologians may quarrel but the mystics of the world speak the same language". I grew up in a village in rural Wiltshire in the 1960s. Over the course of my life, I have witnessed the tragic destruction of much wild nature across these isles to the point where we have become…

I am a facilitator and coach, who loves to create a safe space for people to pause, focus on what’s important, and commit to positive change. This takes the form of 1:1 coaching, team development and retreats. From my background as an Anthropologist, I am drawn to exploring patterns of human behaviour and culture. I am fascinated by how humans in all cultures are connected to the living Earth, and part of a greater ecosystem. I am deeply respectful of and curious about other backgrounds, faiths and spiritualities alongside my Christian faith. My deepest and most resonant childhood memories in rural Nottinghamshire are of running wild in nature. I find walking in the woods, getting dirt under my fingernails and listening to the sound of the raindrops on my bell tent restores my body and soul. As a parent now, I’m deeply disturbed by how disconnected we (in the Global…

I am an Ignatian spiritual director, transpersonal psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer, working for the past 20 years with both individuals and groups. I am also a ceramic and mixed media artist. I have always been interested in the intersection of psychology, spirituality and creativity and more recently the integral nature of ecology to all of these. Having been a Christian for all of my conscious life, journeying at different stages through Evangelical, Anglo-Catholic and contemplative spiritualities, I would now name myself as something of a Christian animist, understanding all of creation to be imbued with Spirit, and being, in some sense, the Body of God. My church is now the woods, the rivers, and my own garden more than any building. Since 2018 I have been part of the Deep Adaptation community, understanding the real threat of collapse, and seeking a way to live in the face of that with love, resilience…

I live at the Hilfield Friary a Franciscan Community, based in beautiful, rural Dorset, dedicated to living sustainably on forty five acres of land. I lead retreats on a range of themes including "Reconnecting to the divine in nature" and also look after the maintenance of the buildings at the friary. Prior to living at Hilfield I was the leader of the Pilsdon Community. A community that offers a refuge to people in crisis, welcoming those from many different backgrounds, to live a common life of prayer, hospitality and work. Providing an environment of acceptance and friendship where people can begin to rebuild their lives. Drawing on my experience at Pilsdon I have authored a book, ‘Accompaniment Community and Nature’ that explores the art of accompaniment. The importance of being with people and time spent in physical activity and in the natural world, without demands being put on expressing feelings,…

Getting involved in climate activism has led me on a journey I never imagined I would take! I’ve never seen myself as a public speaker but the climate crisis has changed that. Over the last few years I’ve set up and chaired a staff climate group where I work and facilitated talks, lectures and events. I go into schools to teach year 5 and 6 pupils about climate change. And I give talks to churches and charities and help them to identify and reduce their climate impact. I’ve been a Christian since I was 13, but for many years felt it was something ‘in my head’ not something I carried in my heart. I’d always been an environmentalist – but my faith and my love of nature existed in separate boxes. When I realised the sheer scale of the crisis it was a huge wake up call. I wanted to…
