Bio
I live at the Hilfield Friary a Franciscan Community, based in beautiful, rural Dorset, dedicated to living sustainably on forty five acres of land. I lead retreats on a range of themes including "Reconnecting to the divine in nature" and also look after the maintenance of the buildings at the friary. Prior to living at Hilfield I was the leader of the Pilsdon Community. A community that offers a refuge to people in crisis, welcoming those from many different backgrounds, to live a common life of prayer, hospitality and work. Providing an environment of acceptance and friendship where people can begin to rebuild their lives. Drawing on my experience at Pilsdon I have authored a book, 'Accompaniment Community and Nature' that explores the art of accompaniment. The importance of being with people and time spent in physical activity and in the natural world, without demands being put on expressing feelings, or even speaking out loud. Seeing this as a potential answer to rising levels of isolation and loneliness in our modern world. I am also an active member of Christian Climate Action and Just Stop Oil, campaigning for climate justice.
