Welcome
What's Soul Rewilding about?
If you're feeling overwhelmed by the ecological crisis and want to move from feeling uncertain, anxious and disconnected from nature then Soul Rewilding is for you. We facilitate immersive experiences in sacred nature, together with coaching support and restorative activity to build hope, personal agency and the solidarity of community.
Immersive experiences to reconnect us to the sacredness of nature
There is a joy, a calm, a sense of transcendence that comes from being immersed in the beauty of wild nature. We all know and love that feeling. Yet the stories we tell ourselves and our modern way of life can cut us off from that awe for the sacred wildness of nature and our own inner wildness and soulfulness.
The ecological crisis is a spiritual crisis
The belief that we are separate from nature, superior to other than human life, that nature is solely a resource for exploitation, consumer convenience, material success, efficiency, speed. All these beliefs, or modern "idols" and ways of being in the world are causing us to kill the very thing that has given birth to us, that we love and depend upon, mother earth. The environmental crisis, loss of biodiversity and climate change is at heart a spiritual crisis afflicting the soul of humanity.
Re discovering an older story to reconnect us to sacred nature
Soul Rewilding is a response to that spiritual crisis. We seek to help people find an older story, another way to reconnect our hearts, bodies and minds to the sacred wildness of nature and our own inner soulfulness. In particular to:
- Feel a closer connection to Mother Earth and the sacredness of nature
- Find clarity, direction and sense of purpose in the midst of the ecological crisis
- Gain equanimity, hope and sense of personal agency
- Discover your unique gifts to begin to make a positive difference
- Learn with experienced facilitators and activists
- Join a community that will help support your journey
Rediscovering our soulfulness amidst the divine in nature
Soul Rewilding is about rediscovering our soulfulness amidst the sacredness of nature. Nature, the wild, has always been the primary setting of the journey to the divine and soul. Moses on mount Sinai, Jesus's forty days and nights in the desert, Buddha beneath the bodhi tree and Mohamed in the cave on mount Hira. Soul is our "inner wilderness," the landscape we know the least and yet holds our individual essence, purpose and mystery.
Learning a new humility and awe
We need to re learn a new humility, awe and spirituality that draws on western and eastern wisdom traditions, together with modern science, in a way that reconnects us to the beauty and sacredness of the earth and all other than human life.
"We must learn to acknowledge that creation is full of mystery; we will never entirely understand it. We must abandon arrogance and stand in awe. We must recover the sense of the majesty of creation, and the ability to be worshipful in its presence. For I do not doubt that it is only on the condition of humility and reverence before the world that our species will be able to remain in it."
